THREE SISTERS RESORT & COMMUNITY

Canmore, AB

2001

Three Sisters Mountain Village located in Canmore is one of MTa’s several completed master planning projects in the Canadian Rockies. It was planned as the next generation of sustainable mountain resorts respecting local heritage the wilderness of the Canadian Rockies and the Bow Valley, intrinsic attributes of Canmore and its people. Facilitated through visioning sessions and community forums, our master planning methods provide a clear framework for elements such as landscaping, pedestrian movement and vehicular circulation around which development may occur. Combining mixed-use commercial and residential components with village imagery, master plan studies incorporate contextual elements to establish the neighborhood planning relationships that best represent the scale, density and character for the proposed development. MTa’s planning experience involves substantial planning experience in the National Parks, working with wildlife and environmental legislation.
