Located at 124 – 1st Street in downtown Sundre, the former seniors residence is proposed for conversion as a continuing care facility. The location of the facility is healthcare and wellness focused and is within walking distance to a medical clinic, pharmacy, fire department, EMS and a community recreational centre.
MTA is working with the client on upgrading the existing building to ensure it is brought up to current compliance with the Provincial B3 building code standards. The design incorporates 43 private rooms that are roughly 250 Sq/ft in size, each of which will have individual washrooms with walk in showers. The facility also features plenty of common space for dining, recreation, bathing, hair dressing, and physiotherapy areas. In addition, the facility offers space for training for students enrolled in the Health Care Aide program at the Red Deer College.
