STONEY CNG TRANSIT FACILITY
MTA as the bridging architects help bring the P3 Stoney CNG Transit Facility project to the city of Calgary. This LEED® Gold project provides storage and maintenance space for City of Calgary’s new CNG transit buses as well as diesel buses that are currently stored outside the City’s other bus garages. The new facility will be capable of housing a minimum of 424 buses, 36 maintenance bays, 3 service lanes (6 bays) for fueling, fluid top-up, vacuuming, wash bay, and on-site compressed natural gas fueling infrastructure. The facility will also support diesel bus operations, recognizing the transition period needed to introduce CNG buses into Transit’s fleet. This facility will have 800 kWh Co-Gen Facility to offset electricity and heating needs provided by Enmax. Other components of the facility include a two storey office administration area with extensive outdoor amenity areas including green roof terraces and ground floor patio area with seating areas and small recreation area.
