PETER LOUGHEED HOSPITAL
The Peter Lougheed Acute Care Centre (PLC) Major Capital Expansion and Renovation is a LEED™ registered project expected to become one of Canada’s first LEED™ Silver Certified acute care facilities. PLC’s multi-phase project incorporates a new seven-storey east addition to accommodate additional patient beds, regional labs and emergency. Major renovations to the existing facility have upgraded and expanded surgical suites, mental health, transplant and renal facilities. The PLC is a two Phase project that has included an initial planning, functional program, site and facility master plan review stage. The building’s phasing and decanting strategy has played a critical role in the success of the construction process, ensuring that the hospital remained operational throughout the course of the project.
