The Saddlestone site created challenges given the size of the site and geometry of the property lines. Together these factors will require an innovative solution of stacked townhouse units to achieve the requirements of the land use bylaw. The solution is enhanced by several unique site conditions including its neighboring storm water retention pond and community round-about. MTA also looked at ways of stepping the building form back from the property lines at the upper levels, in accordance with the bylaw, to create amenity space and add market interest to the project. MTA marketed the units towards a conservative yet contemporary image in order to capture the attention and aspirations of the purchasers. This focus enabled the site to distinguish itself in a crowded marketplace.
