FOREST LAWN LIFT STATION
The recently completed Forest Lawn Lift station for the City of Calgary involved a collaborative effort between MTa, Sans facon (public artist) and Associated Engineering (all engineering disciplines). The new lift station upgrades sewer water services in the Forest Lawn community in an entirely new, innovative manner. Clad in perforated metal panels, the building has a simple iconic form. On the north face, an interactive monitoring system displays the volume and flows of the water systems through the community and into the lift station using a vibrant, ever-changing LED light system. Public art becomes a driver in integrated design.
