FAIRMONT CHATEAU LAKE LOUISE ADDITION
Chateau Lake Louise initiated a series of major capital expansions to the existing hotel in preparation for the 1988 Winter Olympics. These additions and renovations included a new entry pavilion, parkade, selected interior renovations and the new Glacier Wing. The architectural design for the Chateau’s new entry pavilion and Glacier Wing build upon the historic image of Canadian Pacific’s grand train station entrances. The entire building is clad in Canadian Tyndal stone. A gently curving precast concrete 3 storey parkade is hidden behind the new entry pavilion and retail arcade.
