Master planning, open space theme and design. Phase 1 will constitute the beginning of an ambitious .3 billion resort development in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The Village will be a mixture of condominium, hotel, retail and recreational facilities that are inspired by the mountain villages of Europe. In contrast to the typical building-centred resort part, SilverTip shall offer a variety of pedestrian-centred street and plaza spaces that are defined by highly articulated and configured building forms. The ‘new urbanism’ basis for this future world destination resort has involved the design sensitivity of Pier Carlo Bontempi Architectura and UDA Associates in collaboration with Marshall Tittemore Architect’s substantial mountain environment expertise. In addition to the Village master plan, the development of a golf maintenance facility for SilverTip Golf Course was completed to the development permit stage.
