The major renovation / addition to the Edmonton (North) Mail Processing Centre was a signature component as part of Canada Post Corporation’s (CPC) ambitious nation-wide Transformation Program. Design work was directed towards improving efficiencies in mail distribution within north Edmonton and its surrounding area. Accommodating flush and high docks for the delivery vehicles, architectural coordination with the new high-tech mail distribution systems, improving staff amenity spaces, providing new public and staff entries, providing new administration / operation areas, modifying vehicular traffic on the sites, selective upgrading to building envelopes and updating building fire safety / security systems were all undertaken in and around this mail distribution hub.
