Aspen Lodge Interiors

Banff, Alberta

With the help of MTA's interior design team, the Breakfast and Conference rooms at the Aspen Lodge recently underwent an interior facelift. The sleek and comfortable "modern mountain" design is the start-off point for the Aspen Lodge's new design concept, with a similar update underway for the main floor lobby, public space and courtyard areas.

The dated dining area at the Aspen Lodge was transformed into a contemporary and stylish Breakfast Room to be enjoyed by guests and visitors alike. The new Breakfast Room provides the conveniences of a self-service dining experience in an upscale, restaurant-style dining room.

Not your typical restaurant, the 1,375 sq. ft. Breakfast Room is located in the hotel's basement. To create the illusion of height the designers used natural wood ceiling beams to break-up the ceiling and add dimension. Natural finishes such as glass, limestone, alder wood and knotty walnut were used to evoke the mountain landscape.

Echoing the design of the newly renovated Breakfast Room, the Conference Room is finished in a similar contemporary mountain aesthetic, with alder wood columns and millwork; and similar natural finishes. The 330 sq. ft. conference room is used by hotel guests for a night of movie watching and is also rented out to the public for presentations and small conferences.
